Trump administration nominates Levenbach for CFPB director 19-Nov 22:10

The Trump administration has nominated Stuart Levenbach to be director of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection for a five-year term, according to a notice provided to the U.S. Senate.

Levenbach was appointed associate director for natural resources, energy, science and water at the Office of Management and Budget after President Donald Trump took office earlier this year. His CFPB nomination was received in the Senate on Tuesday.

Trump and OMB Director Russell Vought have called for the elimination of the CFPB, the U.S. federal consumer finance watchdog.
