EasyJet, Ithaca Energy to join FTSE 100 index 03-Sep 02:01

Budget airline EasyJet (EZJ.L) and oil and gas producer ​Ithaca Energy (ITH.L) will join Britain's ‌FTSE 100 index, index provider FTSE Russell said on Wednesday.

The ​two will replace betting ​group Entain (ENT.L) and homebuilder Persimmon (PSN.L), FTSE ⁠Russell said.

Here are more details:

- The changes ​stem from the September quarterly ​review of the FTSE UK index series and will be implemented at the ​close of business on ​September 18 and be effective from ‌September ⁠21.
- The FTSE 250 index (.FTMC) will see five additions — Entain, Persimmon, Pinewood Technologies (PINE.L), Seraphim Space ​Investment Trust (SSIT.L) ​and ⁠Volex (VLX.L), FTSE Russell said.
- Aston Martin (AML.L) and GB Group (GBGP.L) ​will exit the FTSE ​250 ⁠index.
- In August, Apollo Global (APO.N) agreed to buy EasyJet in ⁠an ​about £5.70 billion ($7.69 billion) deal.
